Burren Way cottages are set in the heart of the world famous Burren and located in the village of Bellharbour, making it an ideal location for visiting the Ailwee Caves, Corcomore Abbey and the beautiful Cliffs of Moher. The village itself hosts a stunning white sandy beach and all shops and restaurants are just within a short stroll from the cottages.
The cottages each have 3 bedrooms each of which is a double and one with an ensuite. Each cottage has a lounge with TV, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. Bed linen is supplied and towels can be hired at €3 per set. Utilities are an additional charge, they are meter read and paid on departure.
The Burren is a unique rock formation and a UNESCO heritage site. The lunar landscape, and lush vegetation combines to form picture perfect scenery at every stop. Driving beyond Ballyvaughan on the coast road, Blackhead is the stunning backdrop and Galway Bay and the Aran Islands beyond. Unique flowers and vegetation grow in The rocky landscape of the Burren and it is worth a walk to explore this almost lunar like landscape.
The Dolmen and burial settlements in Ireland are older than the Pyramids in Egypt. The Neolithic burial chambers date from around 4200BC - 2900BC. This area would have been home to settlers as the burial area was developed. The Dolmen at Poulnabrone are one of a handful in the Southern part of Ireland it is really a treat to have this fantastic example to visit in County Clare.
