Croan Cottages comprise a cluster of five recently built and comfortable cottages that make a very relaxing holiday retreat. The cottages are set around a courtyard on the grounds of historic Croan House, 14 miles outside Kilkenny.
Croan Cottages are fully furnished three bedroom and two bedroom spacious detached cottages. Each cottage has a private furnished patio and barbecue area.
The cottages are recently built and have been furnished to an exceptionally high standard, having Bord Failte's (Irish Tourist Board) highest rating of four stars.
The cottages boast all the mod cons one could expect, including fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, Satellite TV, Wireless Broadband Internet and central heating.
The cottages are an excellent base for a self-catering holiday in the Southeast of Ireland.
Each cottage has an open fire in the lounge for Autumn or Winter evenings and direct access to private patio and barbeque area for al fresco dining and lazy summer evenings.
There are two cottage types; a two bed sleeping four and a three bed sleeping six. The two bed has a double and twin room and a main bathroom. The three bed sleeps six in a double and two twins. This property has two bathrooms.
Croan is in the south of County Kilkenny and this lovely area is rich in places of interest to visit, including the Castlemorres Demesne (virtually next door), medieval Kilkenny City (15 miles) with its historic castle, and the beautiful monastic settlements of Jerpoint Abbey (3 miles) and Kells Priory (3 miles). There is a craft workshop trail to explore and Waterford Crystal is 20 miles away.
Located on the grounds of Croan House these cottages are located in a beautiful part of the South East of Ireland. Croan House is farmed as an organic smallholding to provide delicious food and drink.
Croans walled garden and paddocks support an organic smallholding and the owners manage to raise much of their own food. Rare breeds of pigs, chickens, ducks and geese are kept on the farm and means that there is a constant supply of bacon, eggs and poultry available.
There are good walking routes, riding, river trips, fishing and championship golf available nearby. Many of Irelands most interesting cities are an easy day trip away. There are shops, pubs and restaurant 2 miles away.
An immediate non-refundable booking deposit of €100 per property is required to secure booking. The balance of the payment is required not less than 6 weeks before arrival date. Guests will receive an e-mail 42 days prior to scheduled arrival date stating how the balance should be paid.
The charge for electricity is by use and payable onsite.

Cots and highchairs must be pre-ordered. Cot linen is not supplied and must be brought by guests.
A refundable security deposit of €150 must be paid to the supervisor/caretaker on arrival. The deposit will be refunded once the supervisor is satisfied that the terms and conditions of rental have been compiled with. It is expected that the homes be left in a clean & tidy condition on departing. All rubbish should be gathered and stored in suitable plastic bags. Failure to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition may result in the loss of security deposit. When a rental is for longer than one week, cleaning of the house during rental must be requested from the on-site manager and a fee may apply.
