Glengarriff village is situated overlooking a sheltered harbour and Garnish Island, otherwise known as "Illuaculin" Ireland's most outstanding garden island with its internationally famous collection of plants and is world renowned for its Italian Gardens.
Glengarriff is a gateway to the Ring of Kerry and Beara Peninsula and is a picturesque village with all the charm of West Cork. Shops, pubs and restaurants adorn this village which is in close proximity to Bantry and Glengarriff Golf Clubs.
Glengarriff - An Gleann Garbh (the rugged glen) is a name derived from the rugged beauty of the mountains and wooded valleys surrounding the village. Indeed there are many magnificent views of mountains and valleys from numerous viewpoints which hug the coastline that leads into Glengarriff.
Garnish Island, otherwise known as Ilnacullin, is located in the sheltered harbour Glengarriff. It is a small island of 15 hectares (37 acres) known to horticulturists and lovers of trees and shrubs all around the world as an island garden of rare beauty.
West Cork is an anglers paradise. Deep Sea fishing, shore fishing, game fishing and coarse fishing are all available.
For walkers, Glengarriff is the perfect base to take on the challenges of the Beara and the Kerry Way.
Dalewood Holiday Homes are the perfect starting point from which to tour the world renowned Ring of Kerry and the lesser known but equally beautiful Ring of Beara. Other local scenic drives will take you to Sheeps Head, Adrigole, the Healy Pass, Lauragh, Gougane Barra, Eyeries, Allihies, Dursey Island (accessible only by cable car!) and the fishing port of Castletownbere.
The very popular town of Kenmare lies just a half hour drive from Glengarriff over spectacular scenery. Here you will find an incredible selection of shops, bars and restaurants along with many places of historical interest.
Glengarriff boasts its own truly beautiful nine hole golf course with incredible views and the Championship Bantry Bay Golf Course lies just 10 miles from Glengarriff town. This challenging cliff-top parkland course is noted as one of the most spectacular and scenic courses in Ireland.
Other activities in the area include bicycle hire, pony trekking, seal watching and much much more.
An immediate non-refundable booking deposit of €100 per property is required to secure booking. The balance of the payment is required not less than 6 weeks before arrival date.
The charge for utilities is €5 per day in June, July, August & September and €7 for all other months. Electricity is charged on a meter reading basis throughout the year, payable onsite.
Towels are not provided as standard. If guests would prefer not to bring their own they are available at an additional charge. One set of towels to include one hand towel and one bath towel is available at a charge of E4.50 per set (1 Bath Towel and 1 Hand Towel), payable onsite.
All bedding and bed linen with the exception of cot bedding and cot linen is provided free of charge. When a property is being rented for more than one week clients may liaise directly with the caretaker if fresh bed linen is required. A nominal fee may apply for these additional services.
Cots and highchairs must be pre-ordered. Every effort will be made to provide these items but guests should remind the caretaker of their request when calling to make arrangements for checking in. There is a charge of E10 per item reserved, payable onsite.
A refundable security deposit of €150 must be paid to the supervisor/caretaker on arrival. The deposit will be refunded once the supervisor is satisfied that the terms and conditions of rental have been compiled with. It is expected that the homes be left in a clean & tidy condition on departing. All rubbish should be gathered and stored in suitable plastic bags.
Failure to leave the accommodation in a clean and tidy condition may result in the loss of security deposit. When a rental is for longer than one week, cleaning of the house during rental must be requested from the on-site manager and a fee may apply. For Bank Holiday weekends the security deposit increases to €500. This is handled by way of a pre-authorized payment (not collected). There will be no claim on this amount once the terms of the rental have been complied with and the house has been left as it should be.
