No stone has been left unturned to ensure that Lisheen Castle be restored to its former glory, a residence fit for a Lord. Lisheen castle was restored from total ruin from 1995 to 2000 by the Everard family. Since then it has operated as luxurious self-catering accommodation although catering can be arranged upon request. When you enter the beautiful hallway, through the Great Oak Door,you will be immediately impressed by the opulance of the diningroom, reception rooms and library. At the end of the long corridor visitors will see a beautiful Ash Carved Stairs.
Upstairs, there are currently 9 luxury bedrooms. While the emphasis in Lisheen Castle is historical, the facilities are up to todays standard.
There is no smoking allowed in any part of the castle. One of the two kitchens is fully fitted to the highest catering standard. Of interest to the guests will be the old style kitchen, which is furnished with pine furniture and terracotta floor.
Even though the Castle is centrally heated throughout, you can still experience the special ambience of the open turf fires which are in all the reception rooms.
Laundry facilities are available in the castle.
The Drawing Room in Lisheen Castle is the centrepiece of the building. The style of the ceiling is Vaulted Norman and has been restored with a wonderful 'trompe La oeil' painted scene. It is furnished to the highest standards, to ensure our guests can relax and enjoy the comfort of this beautiful room.
The atmosphere of the drawing room is even further enhanced by the wonderful white marble Adams Style fireplace. Our guests really appreciate the scent of the open turf fires, a true Irish delicacy!
While relaxing in this room, visitors can peruse the famous Tipperary rural landscape through the double height Elizabethan windows, through which the morning sun shines. This is an experience well worth savouring.
The bedroom suites in Lisheen Castle are decorated and furnished to ensure that our guests can enjoy the splendour of former years without compromising on the comforts of today. The Castle currently has 9 luxury bedrooms - 6 Double en-suite, 1 Twin en-suite, 1 Single en-suite (this room is actually a small double but called a single), 1 Single without bathroom (this room is actually a small double but called a single too). For that formal dinner, with a very special touch of splendour, the Dining Room in Lisheen Castle cannot be surpassed. The Regency dining room table seats fourteen guests in comfort.
The ceiling in this room is decorated with Celtic Murals, depicting scenes from Ancient Ireland, such as Fionn Mac Cumhaill (Finn McCoole), Deirdre, Grainne and Oisin.
Again, the room has a marvellous open white marble fireplace, to add to the warmth of the atmosphere.

When our guests wish to be less formal, they usually decide to unwind in the Library. Just imagine, relaxing after an enjoyable day in the Irish countryside. It is not a co-incidence that the Library is conveniently located right beside the cellar !

The unique mixture of the aroma of an Irish turf fire blended with the taste of an Irish Malt is one of life's greatest experiences. A broad range of reading material is always available, with a special emphasis on the Irish History and Country living.
The rates published are weekly rates, unless otherwise stated. During the peak summer season weekly lettings are from Saturday to Saturday. For off peak periods we can offer flexibility on arrival dates.
